Per Still Remembers Karin
Per, who along with Gareth, owns and runs Stables Photography Studios, has his own story about this. One that still brings a quiet smile.
He grew up spending summers in Sweden, where his great-grandmother Karin lived. Their bond was simple and strong, built on shared routines and quiet affection.
He remembers sitting with her in the kitchen while she baked rye bread, humming old folk tunes under her breath. They once took a photo together in the garden – she in her floral apron, he grinning with a missing front tooth. It wasn’t staged or polished. Just real.
She passed away when Per was nine.
It’s a perfect example of why we do what we do.
